With much discussions taking place on the impacts of Covid 19 on the travel industry, we at ArTravele have decided to talk to four distinguished personalities to understand travel life from their perspective and what changes they’d foresee. Belgian nationality, Mr. Pringiers established Sail Lanka Charter (Pvt) Ltd in 2014 with the desire to create and promote sailing as a new and ecologically sustainable tourist activity in Sri Lanka. Having 10 luxury catamarans in its fleet, designed and built in Sri Lanka, allowing the guests to explore the pristine beaches and the crystalline waters with all the comforts it supports forging a lasting bond between tourists and the local communities.
Following the 2004 tsunami disaster, he initiated the Solideal Loadstar Rehabilitation Trust (SLRT), tsunami rehabilitation & reconstruction project. to rebuild 5 schools, 730 permanent houses, repair 163 fishing boats, 20 new boats, repair 315 boat engines, etc. Pierre Pringiers was decorated by The King of Belgium Albert II with “Chevalier de l’ordre de Léopold” in recognition for the achievements; In November 2006, and the “Melvin Jones Fellow” from the Lions International Foundation for the dedicated humanitarian services.
