The inaugural visit of the luxury passenger ship Resilient Lady, operated by Virgin Voyages under the Bahamian flag, occurred at the Port of Colombo on November 13. Measuring 909 ft. long and capable of accommodating 2,318 passengers and 1,194 crew members, the ship docked at the Sri Lanka Ports Authority’s (SLPA) East Terminal. Constructed in 2022, the ship’s first call was marked by an exchange of plaques between SLPA Chairman Keith D. Bernard and Captain Matthew Hudson, the vessel’s Master.
Following its departure from Goa, India, the Resilient Lady is set to make its next stop in Phuket, Thailand. Inchcape Mackinnon Mackenzie Shipping Ltd. acts as the local port agent, while Aitken Spence Travels Ltd. manages local excursions during the ship’s stay in Colombo.
