A South Korean TV and media crew comprising of 6 media houses and 7 journalists, including three TV channels and three newspapers, recently arrived in Sri Lanka to explore the country’s tourist attractions. The trip was organized by Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) in collaboration with the Embassy of Sri Lanka in the Republic of Korea and Sri Lankan Airlines.
The Korean media houses will focus on Sri Lanka’s Buddhist attractions, given the increasing interest among the Buddhist population in the Republic of Korea to explore Buddhist sites in overseas destinations, especially in South Asia. The crew visited various popular destinations such as Galle, Nuwaraeliya, Kandy, Anuradapura, Sigiriya, Dabulla, and Colombo. The visit aims to promote Sri Lanka as a tourist destination, especially among Korea’s high-end travelers.
